Description

TEXA Doppler Simulator for VAG and Mazda (S1261B)

Designed for static ADAS calibration of radar systems on Volkswagen Group (VAG) and Mazda vehicles, the TEXA S1261B is a radar Doppler simulator built for professional shop use. After a bumper repair, sensor swap, or front-end structural repair, recalibrating adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, or automatic emergency braking radar requires a signal the vehicle ECU can actually respond to. The S1261B generates that synthetic radar return ÔÇö the signal the ECU expects to receive during a live calibration ÔÇö so your technician can complete the procedure on a stationary vehicle in the bay, no road drive required.

This is a purpose-built tool, not a universal solution. The S1261B is engineered specifically for VAG and Mazda radar calibration and works in conjunction with the TEXA RCCS calibration structure and TEXA IDC5/IDC6 diagnostic software. Toyota, Ford, General Motors, and other makes require different tooling. For shops that regularly handle VAG and Mazda vehicles and have the volume to justify it, this is the right simulator for that work.

What a Doppler Simulator Does

Front radar systems in modern vehicles ÔÇö the hardware behind adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning ÔÇö operate by sending out a signal and measuring the frequency shift of the returning echo. That shift, the Doppler effect, tells the system how fast objects ahead are moving and how far away they are. In a static calibration scenario, the vehicle is stationary, which means there is no natural return signal for the radar to read. The S1261B solves that problem by producing a synthetic radar return matched to the frequency and signal profile the ECU expects, giving the calibration software what it needs to complete the procedure and write updated values to the radar module.

Without this device, certain VAG and Mazda radar calibrations simply cannot be completed statically. The fallback is a dynamic calibration ÔÇö a controlled road drive under specific conditions ÔÇö which takes more time, demands suitable road surfaces, and in some weather conditions or shop locations may not be practical at all. The S1261B makes static, in-shop calibration achievable for these makes, keeping the process faster and more predictable.

Compatible Vehicles and Systems

  • VAG Group ÔÇö Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT vehicles equipped with front radar-based ADAS systems (adaptive cruise control, AEB, FCW)
  • Mazda ÔÇö Mazda vehicles equipped with radar-based ADAS systems requiring static Doppler simulation during calibration
  • Calibration type: Static (in-shop, vehicle stationary)
  • Systems addressed: Front radar modules used for ACC, AEB, FCW

Specific model-year coverage and system applicability are determined by the IDC5/IDC6 software version and current TEXA calibration database updates. If you have a specific model in question before purchasing, contact us at 800-123-4567 for current coverage confirmation.

How It Fits the TEXA RCCS Workflow

The S1261B operates as part of the TEXA RCCS (Radar and Camera Calibration System) workflow:

  • Step 1: Vehicle is positioned on the RCCS alignment system. The self-centering laser aligns the calibration structure to the vehicle centerline.
  • Step 2: TEXA IDC5 or IDC6 software identifies the vehicle and displays the required calibration procedure.
  • Step 3: For VAG and Mazda radar calibrations requiring Doppler simulation, the S1261B is connected and positioned in front of the radar sensor per the OEM-specified procedure.
  • Step 4: The simulator generates the required radar return signal, allowing the software to communicate with the radar ECU and complete static calibration.
  • Step 5: Calibration values are written to the module, verified, and the procedure is logged.

The S1261B is not a standalone device. It requires TEXA RCCS hardware ÔÇö RCCS 2, RCCS 3, or RCCS 3 EVO ÔÇö along with active TEXA IDC5 or IDC6 software and a current calibration data subscription.

Who Needs the S1261B

  • Independent shops and dealerships that handle frequent VAG or Mazda front-end and bumper work and want to keep radar calibration in-house rather than subcontracting or routing vehicles to the dealer
  • Collision repair centers working on VAG and Mazda vehicles where bumper or front fascia repairs trigger mandatory radar recalibration
  • ADAS calibration specialists building out a complete TEXA RCCS toolkit for broad make and model coverage
  • Shops already running TEXA RCCS systems that need to extend their capability to include VAG and Mazda radar calibration

If VAG and Mazda vehicles rarely come through your bay, the S1261B is not an urgent addition to your toolkit. If these makes represent a consistent share of your ADAS calibration volume, this simulator earns its place by enabling static procedures that would otherwise send you out for a road drive or push the job to a dealer referral.

Part of the TEXA RCCS Advanced Kit

The S1261B is included as a bundled component in the TEXA RCCS3 Advanced Kit (SKU: RCCS3ADVTV), which combines the RCCS3 calibration structure, a 75-inch 4K HD digital target monitor, and 14 additional calibration accessories for expanded multi-make coverage. If you are standing up a full TEXA ADAS calibration capability from the ground up, the Advanced Kit may offer better value than sourcing individual accessories separately. Call us to walk through configurations and pricing side by side.

Technical Requirements

  • Requires: TEXA RCCS 2, RCCS 3, or RCCS 3 EVO calibration structure
  • Requires: TEXA Navigator TXT or NANO diagnostic interface
  • Requires: TEXA IDC5 or IDC6 software with active subscription and current calibration database
  • Manufacturer Part Number: S1261B
